Salgotarjani Uveggyapot Rt (SU), a Hungarian maker of fibreglass insulation materials, plans to boost its regional market share through more active sales efforts in Romania and Bulgaria, as well as through expanding its domestic presence, according to economic department head Agnes Dorko. SU is owned by Germany“s Pfleiderer AG. Pfleiderer, Europe“s largest producer of fibreglass insulation materials, acquired SU a year ago. As a result of the transaction, the Hungarian firm“s sales grew to Ft 3 billion (US$ 13 million) in 1999, and should increase by another 10% this year. SU“s current production capacity is sufficient to meet the increasing demand, but Pfleiderer will carry out an investment to expand capacity in 2001.
