France“s Compagnie de Saint-Gobain SA and Colombian financial holding Suramericana de Inversiones SA, or Suraminv, will invest USD 200 million to build a float glass factory in the suburbs of Bogota, the CEO of Suraminv said 16 October 2008. Suraminv invested USD 7 million in the joint-venture, which gave it a 15% stake, said David Bojanini, the company“s CEO. Pilkington PLC is also a minority shareholder in the project. Suraminv plans to sell its stake to Saint-Gobain later on, Mr. Bojanini added. Suraminv controls the country“s largest bank, Bancolombia SA, cement manufacturer Cementos Argos SA and food company Grupo Nacional de Chocolates SA, and has minority stakes in other listed companies such as Almacenes Exito SA.
