France“s Saint-Gobain has opened a new coated glass production line at Salaise-sur-Sanne (Isere). The EUR 20.5 million line, which uses Magnetron technology, went into operation three months ago. The aim, according to Saint-Gobain Glass Europe managing director Claude-Alain Tardy, is to ensure that French double glazing does not continue to lag behind other European countries. The facilities at the Salaise-sur-Sanne plant, presented as the most modern in the world, will produce glass for the French market and for Italy and Spain, which also have strong potential.
