French construction materials manufacturer Saint-Gobain is to invest EUR 37 million over the coming months to refurbish the Chalon-sur-Saone site of its Saint-Gobain Emballage subsidiary. The group plans to refurbish the three furnaces at the site and to install a smoke filtering system which aims to cut emissions by 50 to 70%. The plant employs 400 people and produces around 1 million bottles a year.
