Saint-Gobain glass and industrial ceramics group recorded 24.6% increased turnover of FFr 71.893 billion (Euros 10.960 billion) for the first half of 1999 compared to turnover of FFr 57.691 billion (Euros 8.795 billion) for the same period in 1998. During the first half of 1999, group operating profit increased 26.8% to FFr 7.31 billion (Euros 1.12 billion) compared to operating profit of FFr 5.77 billion (Euros 879 million) in the same period of 1998. Net profit increased 10.6% to FFr 5.79 (Euros 882 million) compared to FFr 3.45 billion (Euros 526 million).
