10 December 1998: The French group Saint-Gobain is reportedly preparing an investment of Ptas 5,000 million to double capacity at the Tarragona plant of Vidrieria de Montblanc (Videmosa) in Spain. The investment budget for the first phase was Ptas 9,000 million. The plant, which was formally opened recently by the president of the Catalan regional government Jordi Pujol, has been operating at full capacity since last June. It produces bottles for the wine sector and manufactures 125,000 tonnes a year. Turnover is expected to reach Ptas 5,000 million in the first twelve months of operations. The plant has one furnace and three production lines.
