Local authority officials from Castrilln in northern Spain will visit the Saint Gobain Cristalera plant between 22 and 25 October 2007 with the aim of finding out to what extent the plant fails to comply with the General Urban Plan of the municipality. The company has a factory building which is higher than permitted under the plan. The mayor of the locality, Angela Vallina, said that she met company officials and that both parties were trying to reach a solution to the problem of the building. The factory visit will also be an opportunity for the local authority to get know the plant activities. “Today“s visit was a first contact. After the factory visit the meetings will continue”, the mayor said.
