Rosspirtprom has announced plans to set up glass bottle productions in the Leningrad region and Mordovia. The plant, in the Leningrad region, with a capacity of 600-650 million bottles a year, is scheduled to start production in August 2002. The other plant is to be launched in two or three years. Once in operation, the two plants expect to meet 50% to 60% of demand for glass bottles from Rosspirtprom alcohol holding enterprises, based in the Volga and Central regions and the northwestern part of Russia. The holding needs between 2.5-3 billion bottles per year.
