Consolidated gross profit of glassmaker Rona Crystal, a.s., Lednicke Rovne and its parent company Rona, a.s., Lednicke Rovne is expected to reach SKK 129 million in 2002. It amounted to SKK 64 million in four months of this year, Economic Director Zlatica Balonova informed SITA. Rona Crystal reported a profit of SKK 8 million last year and Rona grossed SKK 75 million. Sale of Rona Crystal through its parent company should total SKK 1.8 billion in late 2002. This would be 14% up from SKK 1.575 billion it showed in 2001. Four-month sales stood at SKK 510 million, which is 28% of the annual projection. Rona Crystal is planing to close this year with an output of SKK 867.7 million, compare with the last year“s output of SKK 1.225 billion. The firm put out SKK 253 million worth of goods from January to April in 2002. Glassworks in Lednicke Rovne was established by firm Schreiber und Neffen in 1892. It transformed into a joint-stock company LR Crystal 100 years later. It changed its trade name in Rona Crystal in late 2001. A private company BDS, founded in 1995, privatized the glassworks and secured its export. In May 2000, BDS renamed in Rona Trading. It has been operating as Rona, a.s., since January 1, 2002, and controls 90.9% in the firm Rona Crystal. Rona Crystal employs about 1,500 people. Rona, a.s., Lednicke Rovne as a parent company secures distribution of Rona Crystal“s products. More than 96% of the firm“s production is oriented towards export.
