The Romanian Industry and Energy Ministry is seeking foreign investors for a USD 100 million (EUR 94.3 million) float glass plant for window panes, it was reported on 24 March 2003. The plant would have a capacity of 600 tonnes of panes a day. The Romanian side would provide 15% of the total needed investment. The ministry is also looking for foreign investors for three investment projects worth a total of USD 70 million (EUR 66 million) at Romanian glass plant Stirom in Bucharest, including a glass bins production line, and two investment projects totalling USD 8.0 million (EUR 7.5 million) at glass maker GES in Scaieni, southern Romania, including a line for manufacturing silver-coated glass and another for reflective glass with controlled absorption of energy. The ministry has also proposed a USD 30 million (EUR 28.3 million) investment project at glassware manufacturer Vitrometan in Medias, central Romania, and a USD 10 million (EUR 9.4 million) investment project at ceramics maker Electroceramica in Cluj, western Romania. It is envisaged that both projects will involve the building of facilities.
