The bottle output of Russian-US glass company Rasko totalled 242 million bottles in the first half of the year, a 64.9% increase on the year, the company“s manager Igor Matrosov said in August. Rasko invested US$ 20 million in bottle production in the period, up from US$ 5 million for the same period in 2001. Rasko“s strategic investor is US government-backed investment fund Agribusiness Partners International LP /API/. This year, Rasko projects its production to reach over 700 million bottles compared with Russia“s total of five billion bottles a year. By the end of 2003, Rasko plans to boost its capacity to one billion bottles yearly.
