Russian-American company Rasko (Vladimir) turned out 64.9% more glass bottles year-on-year in the first half, to 242 million bottles. Company manager Igor Matrosov said that Rasko“s Anopino Glass Plant (Vladimir region), a maker of bottles for the liquor industry, increased output 34.9% to 198 million bottles. Rasko“s Voronezh branch (set up at the Voronezh electric light-bulb plant) turned out its first consignments of bottles for non-alcoholic beverages in the amount of 22 million units, while a similar number rolled off the conveyor belts at a plant outside Moscow in the town of Zaprudnya. Matrosov noted that the enterprise plans to increase bottle output, including at the three subsidiaries, to 800 million units in 2002, double the 2001 output. Company investment in the first half increased 150% to US$ 20 million, of which US$ 15 million was put into glass production in Voronezh and US$ 5 million into the plant in Zaprudnya.
