Pyrofire Sdn Bhd has teamed up with a major Britain-based producer of special fire resistant glass C3S Securiglass Ltd. Under a dealership agreement, Pyrofire has obtained the exclusive rights to market Pyrocet, believed to be the only Fire Department-approved, non-insulated and non-wired fire resistant glass to be introduced locally. Pyrofire director Kwong Kee Chye said Pyrofire, a subsidiary of office automation firm H-Plan Industries Sdn Bhd, was set up in spring 2002 to undertake the marketing, framing and installation of glass fire doors, windows, fixed panels and screen panels. Pyrofire also manufactures stainless steel frames for doors in Sungai Buloh, Selangor. The manufacturing frames and installations are in accordance with the specifications and standard provided by C3S. C3S Securiglass sales and marketing director Mike Fawcett said that the company saw big potential for glass fire door in Malaysia, especially in Kuala Lumpur. According to Fawcett, C3S Securiglass has cornered 30% share of the non-insulated and non-wired fire resistant glass market in Britain. C3S Securiglass is also represented in Hong Kong and Taiwan. Fawcett said that a 3-sq.m. Pyrocet was capable of holding back fire for 60 minutes, allowing sufficient time for the building“s occupants to evacuate. The glass has clear metallic coating on both sides to reflect away heat and minimise thermal heat, thus ensuring identical performance from whichever direction a fire may attack. It is manufactured in accordance with the ISI9000/9001 and was the first to be covered by Certfire certification.
