US industrial gases company Praxair, Inc. is notifying its US customers of price increases for bulk oxygen, nitrogen, argon, carbon dioxide, and hydrogen. The increase percentages will vary and are subject to upon product, geographic supply position, and specific contract terms. Helium prices will also be increased worldwide due to tightening supply and demand conditions combined with higher costs for refined liquid and crude gas. The price increases will affect all forms of supply including bulk liquid helium, gaseous helium, and packaged helium products such as cylinders and dewars. Customers are also being informed that Praxair will continue with its previously announced contract restructuring programme aimed at providing greater flexibility to respond to dynamic marketplace conditions, unpredictable costs such as fuel and energy charges, and prices allowing for reinvestment in production facilities and ancillary services.
