Leading industrial gases company Praxair Inc., announced 10 March 2003 that from 12 March 2003 it will apply a transportation charge for bulk oxygen, nitrogen, carbon dioxide, hydrogen and helium. The charges will range from USD 25 to USD 50 per full-load delivery and will vary according to product. The company say they are introducing the charge to compensate for the drastic rise in the price of diesel. Furthermore, Praxair will continue to use regional programs to recover costs related to rising energy (natural gas and oil) prices. Praxair is the largest industrial gases company in the Americas, and one of the biggest worldwide, with 2002 sales of USD 5.1 billion.
