PPG Industries“ Performance Glazings business had quality glass products and advanced technologies on show at the 2009 edition China Glass in Shanghai, China. Among its products, PPG demonstrated its advanced float glass technology, energy-saving low-E glass, solar control glass and the Oceans of Color collection of spectrally-selective tinted glass. Jeff Yigdall, director of engineering and international business, PPG performance glazings said, PPG has licenced high-quality float glass technology to a selection of Chinese glass manufacturers for several years. We will continue to bring advanced technology, such as our Ultra-Clear or spectrally selective tints to this growing market. PPG“s pioneering oxygen-fuel glass furnace is used in the manufacturing process of float glass technology, and today, seven out of about 20 imported high performance float glass lines built in China use PPG technology. Jeff continued, PPG will bring glass technology in the form of high-performance low-e glasses and solar technology to the Chinese construction market. PPG Solarban low-E glass is still manufactured in North America and is available in China through PPG International Certified Fabricator Program (ICFP).
