PPG Industries has announced the introduction of HYBON 2026 fiberglass roving for use in wind energy and other global markets. According to the company, this high-performance fiberglass enables manufacturers to make larger wind turbine blades, thus helping to increase turbines“ energy output. Manufactured by PPG at five locations – three in the US; one in U.K.; and one in China – a joint venture of PPG and Sinoma Jinjing Fiber Glass Co. Ltd. – HYBON 2026 fiberglass roving reinforces composites used to create longer, lighter turbine blades. HYBON 2026 fiberglass is also one of the few high performance rovings that is multi-compatible in a variety of resin systems, providing customers with versatility in design and engineering. In addition to offering fiberglass for turbine blades and coatings for wind towers and blades, PPG also supplies glass and coatings for the solar energy market. HYBON is a trademark of PPG Industries.
