Glass, fiberglass, coatings and chemicals manufacturer PPG Industries announced 25 April 2005 a series of management assignments effective 1 May 2005. J. Rich Alexander, vice president, industrial coatings, has been elected senior vice president, coatings, responsible for the industrial, aerospace and architectural business units as well as coatings in the Asia/Pacific region. Garry A. Goudy, vice president, automotive aftermarket, has been elected senior vice president, automotive aftermarket. Goudy will continue to be responsible for PPG“s automotive refinish, automotive replacement glass and insurance and services businesses. In addition, he will be responsible for Latin America. Victoria M. Holt, vice president, fiberglass, has been elected senior vice president, glass and fiberglass, responsible for the fiberglass, flat glass and automotive OEM glass business units. Kevin F. Sullivan, vice president, chemicals, has been elected senior vice president, chemicals. Sullivan will continue to be responsible for PPG“s chlor-alkali, fine chemicals, silicas and optical products businesses. William A. Wulfsohn, vice president, coatings, Europe, and managing director, PPG Europe, has been elected senior vice president, coatings, and managing director, PPG Europe. He will be responsible for automotive OEM and packaging business units as well as PPG“s coatings operations in Europe. Additionally, Maurice V. Peconi, vice president, corporate development, will become vice president, corporate development and services. In addition to corporate development and information technology, Peconi will be responsible for purchasing and distribution; corporate marketing and communications; and quality. The company also announced on 25 April 2005 the composition of its executive committee and a newly formed operating committee. Charles E. Bunch, president and chief executive officer, who as previously announced becomes chairman and CEO from 1 July 2005; James C. Diggs, senior vice president, general counsel and secretary; and William H. Hernandez, senior vice president, finance, will constitue the company“s executive committee. In addition to those named above, the following will be among the 14 individuals serving on the operating committee: Aziz Giga, vice president, strategic planning; Kathleen McGuire, vice president, purchasing and distribution; David B. Navikas, vice president and controller; James A. Trainham, vice president, science and technology; and Charles W. Wise, vice president, human resources.
