UK-based glassmaker Pilkington has sold its Swiss processing operations to German Flachglas Wernberg in a GBP 20 million plus deal. Pilkington“s Japanese parent NSG Group holds a 49% stake in Flachglas Wernberg, which has bought three businesses employing 255 staff, who will all keep their jobs. The building glass processing operations, deemed “non-core” by NSG, will continue to be led by the existing management team. A spokesman for Pilkington said: “The service to the NSG Group“s existing customers in Switzerland will be unaffected by the sale.”
