Pilkington has recently completed a GBP 10 million, 12-week electrical and mechanical shutdown and rebuild of the furnace control system at its Cowley Hill plant in the company“s home town of St. Helens, north-west England. Cross Services Engineering of St Helens led the upgrade and enhancement of electrical and mechanical control systems at the “nerve centre” of the plant“s float glass furnace.
