The consumer electronics division of Philips Electronics China Group, the Chinese unit of Royal Philips Electronics, recently said that it would not withdraw from the PDP market, its first response to withdrawal talks. Philips Electronics China Group further clarified by saying that Philips would continue to sell flat-panel TVs including plasma TV and LCD TV around the world for the foreseeable future. Philips has just adjusted its sales strategy, and will mainly focus on selling LCD TV in the global market. Presently, about 90% of flat-panel TVs sold in China are LCD TVs, which has become the market leader after surpassing plasma TV, according to statistics.
