The Executive Board and all staff at the Pfeiffer Vacuum Group are deeply shaken by the natural disasters in Japan and the resulting suffering of those people affected. Our deepest sympathy goes to the entire nation of Japan. On a positive note, our immediate trade partner, Hakuto Co., Ltd., has apparently not suffered any direct human or material loss. As far as our supplier situation is concerned, we do not obtain any components for our Pfeiffer Vacuum products from Japan. In accordance with our strict policy of risk reduction, using at least two different sources of supply, we would have recourse to alternatives in the event of a supply shortfall. With regard to our own machinery, Pfeiffer Vacuum is completely independent of replacement deliveries from Japan since we use German and European brands almost exclusively. Pfeiffer Vacuum is a leading supplier of vacuum solutions worldwide. Besides a complete range of hybrid and magnetically mounted turbo pumps, including booster pumps, measuring and analysis tools, components, and vacuum chambers and systems. Founded in 1890, Pfeiffer Vacuum today employs around 2,200 staff and has 28 subsidiaries in operation around the world.
