12 November 1998: Owens, the US glass packagings giant, has started an investment project at Huta Szkla Antoninek, the glassworks on the outskirts of Poznan, Poland, that is expected to increase its capacity to 2,000 million bottles a year. The privatized glassworks was bought by UNP Holding of Canada, which invested over Zl 50 million in its modernization before selling it to Owens in September 1998.
