Building materials systems and composites systems supplier Owens Corning announced 24 February 2004 that Roy Dean has been appointed as Owens Corning Corporate Controller. “Roy is very deserving of this position and he will continue to do an outstanding job helping to lead OC,” said Owens Corning Chairman and Chief Financial Officer Mike Thaman. “His leadership within Owens Corning is evident. He has gone into every one of his positions with the same energy, passion and enthusiasm throughout his career, and I know he will do the same as Corporate Controller.” Dean, formerly Vice President and Controller of Owens Corning“s Insulation Systems Business, has been with the company for 23 years in a variety of roles. He has held leadership positions in finance, manufacturing operations and supply chain. Dean, a native of Ebensburg, Pennsylvania, earned a Bachelor of Science degree from Clarion University in 1981. He replaces Chuck Dana who was recently named President of Owens Corning“s Composite Solutions Business.
