Owens Corning has made a US$ 10-million investment in Improvenet, and entered a multiyear alliance with the company. In a recent press release, Owens Corning said that as part of the investment, it will have a seat on the online home improvement service“s board. As reported, General Electric Co. (GE) made an undisclosed investment in Improvenet on 16 September. Owens Corning also said the new services agreement expands the pact the companies signed earlier this year. The marketing alliance includes Improvenet“s presence on Owens Corning“s Web site through Improvenet“s Do-it-for-me Service. The service lets Owens Corning gather information about homeowners“ needs for the purpose of planning services and products for future projects. Owens Corning provides building materials systems and glass fibre composites systems.
