A plant at L“Ardoise in France, belonging to the US group Owens Corning, has been partially converted to produce Advantex glass reinforcement fibres. Advantex is a new industrial grade material offering resistance to both heat and corrosion. Plants at Battice in Belgium and Rio Claro in Brazil have also been modified to produce it. The only site currently dedicated to Advantex is Guelph in Canada. Advantex is available in both cut and continuous form. It is free from boron, which minimises toxic emissions during production without the need for costly controls.
