Owens Corning has reportedly acquired the reinforcement and composite fabrics businesses of Saint-Gobain for USD 640 million. The acquired business includes 20 manufacturing units and about 4,500 employees worldwide. On 2 November 2009, the company announced that it intends to expand its glass reinforcements and composite fabrics production capabilities in China and Russia. The deal has been approved by regulatory authorities in Europe and the US.
