Work has started on the installation of a 70 million diameter glass dome that will form the cope of the Osaka Maritime Museum in Japan. A floating crane was used to lift the dome into place. The dome was built by Kawasaki Heavy Industries, with glazing by Asahi Glass. The museum was designed by Paul Andreu Architects, and Ove Arup & Partners was structural, services and seismic engineer.
