8 July 1999: Malaysian glass company Orbtech Composites (M) Sdn Bhd, a specialist in the manufacture of hi-tech glass reinforced plastic (GRP), aimed to secure a M$ 20 million export contract this year, said technical sales manager Paul Hughes. Expressing confidence of receiving a firm order for the contract, he said that the M$ 20 million job would be an important breakthrough for the company into the global market. “It would also further enhance Malaysia“s status and manufacturing capability to produce such hi-tech products,” he said in a statement issued by Malaysian Exhibition Services Sdn Bhd (MES) recently. Orbtech Composites will exhibit its products at the eighth Malaysian Oil, Gas and Petrochemical Exhibition (OGM “99), to be held at the Mines Exhibition Centre from 13-16 July 1999. The event, which will be organized by MES, is expected to attract more than 300 companies from 25 countries. Orbtech Composites is a member of the Orbtech Group, which offers specialized engineering construction and maintenance service, fabrication and manufacturing and information technology to the oil and gas, petrochemical, power, transportation and industrial sectors.
