Ocean Glass Plc plans to implement a branding campaign in order to achieve its goal of boosting sales by 10% to THB 1.27 billion this year. The company will focus on creating brand loyalty for its products in domestic and global markets, said the company“s director Kirati Assakul. The price war during the past few years has dissuaded glass manufacturers from pursuing branding campaigns, Kirati said. But in light of the changed business environment brought about by the Asean Free Trade Area, low-priced imports have persuaded the company to shift gears and focus on creating brand loyalty, he said. The company would emphasise high quality, functionality, simplicity and flexibility in marketing its Ocean Glassware brand to customers this year, Kirati said. Kirati expects the marketing campaign to boost exports by more than 10% this year in China, India, Japan, Australia, New Zealand and Europe and the US. Exports accounted for 65% of Ocean Glass“s total sales of BHT 854 million in the first nine months of last year. The company plans to expand its production capacity next year from 120 million to be 128 million cases, Kirati said. It will invest BHT 91 million in a new factory in Bang Poo Industrial Estate in Samut Prakan, he said. Kirati said the investment would enable the company to develop new products for export.
