O-I (Owens-Illinois Inc.) said on 11 June 2009 that almost 89% of the principle amount of senior notes due 2009 had been tendered. As of the expiration date, Owens-Illinois had received valid tenders from holders of approximately 221.9 million in aggregate principal amount. O-I is a manufacturers of glass bottles used for beer, wine and soft drinks, said holders of USD 221.9 million in principle of the USD 250 million 7.5% notes met the company“s deadline of midnight 10 June. The total purchase price was USD 232 million. J.P. Morgan Securities, Banc of America Securities and Deutsche Bank Securities served as advisers.
