Nippon Electric Glass Co. plans to raise fiberglass output by expanding the annual capacity of its Malaysian plant by slightly more than 20% to around 160,000 tons. The factory, which is capable of producing about 130,000 tons a year, has been working at full capacity to meet rising demand for resin-based autoparts. The move is aimed at increasing supplies to China as well as to countries in the Association of Southeast Asian Nations and in Europe. The investment is estimated at between JPY 3.5 billion (USD 29.6 million) and JPY 4 billion.
