26 November 1998: Nihon Yamamura Glass Co. Ltd., the Japanese bottle producer, has announced its six-month results to 30 September 1998, together with forecasts for the year to 31 March 1999. For the half-year ending on 30 September 1998, Yamamura recorded sales worth 32.08 billion yen, down from 33.07 billion yen. This resulted in net losses of 2.48 billion yen, down on the previous profit of 403 million yen. For the full year, ending on 31 March 1999, the company is forecasting an increase in sales from 62.5 billion yen to 71 billion yen, with net losses of 800 million yen compared to the previous year“s profit of 18 million yen.
