It is now official – glass wool or fibreglass insulation does not pose a cancer threat to humans. This is the verdict of the World Health Organisation“s International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC). The IARC removed glass wool from a “2b” classification as a possible carcinogen, and put it instead in category “3”, which is reserved for substances not classifiable as to their carcinogenicity to humans.
