Chemical conglomerate Hubei New Huaguang Information Materials Co., Ltd. and SinoCast – Chinese photovoltaic (PV), glass, recently announced that subsidiary Yunnan Tianda Photovoltaic Co., Ltd. had reached accord with two international companies regarding cooperation in the PV sector. The subsidiary signed an agreement and a MOU (memorandum of understanding) separately with Australia“s NewSouth Innovations Pty Limited (NSI) and Germany“s Roth & Rau AG in Beijing On 19 October 2009. Tianda Photovoltaic and the Australian partner have therefore agreed to jointly carry out more effective research on PV technology, and NSI will offer licenses of related advanced PV technology to the Chinese company. Tianda will enjoy services of the former until the third year after the agreement takes effect and will pay research permission fees of AUD 400,000 and service fees of AUD 750 million. According to the MOU, Roth & Rau will supply Tianda Photovoltaic with a solar cell production line with a yearly production of 60MW.
