Peruvian glass producer Corporacion Miyasato is to begin exports of automotive to Ecuador and Bolivia, benefiting from the increase in the installed capacity that allowed a 14% increase on sales currently at US$ 1 million per month. Miyasato automotive glass accounts for 35% – 37% of the domestic market, a percent to reach 50% in 2002, while 25% of the market is held by informal companies. Glass for construction purposes is a 40 – 50,000 million tons market all imported, while the company has increases by 8% – 9% sales of laminated, and acoustic glasses, and by 30% sales of flat glass. Miyasato exports laminated and tempered glasses to Argentina, Chile, and Ecuador, with external sales accounting for 10% of its turnover, expected to increase to 25% within 3 – 4 years.
