The Lysychanska Soda open joint-stock company (Lysychansk, Luhansk region) has decided to raise its statutory capital by UAH 2.03 million to UAH 2.566 million through the issue of additional shares, according to a representative of the company“s securities department. Shareholders decided at a 30 January 2006 meeting to issue 40.60 million additional shares at a face value of UAH 0.05 per share, which will enable the company to increase its statutory capital by 378.64%. Existing shareholders will have priority access to the new shares. Lysychanska Soda reported a loss of UAH 9.587 million for 2004, when its net revenues increased by UAH 43.747 million or 103.8% to UAH 85.895 million compared with 2003. Financial results for 2005 have not yet been released. Apart from Lysychanska Soda, soda ash is produced in Ukraine by the Crimean soda factory (Krasnoperekopsk, Crimea).
