Slovak crystal and glass goods producer Lusk Nova posted a loss of SKK 500,000 for the first quarter of 2002, against a break even in the first quarter of 2001, the director of the company, Jan Lelko, said. Lusk Nova reported sales revenue of SKK 5.5 million in the first quarter of 2002, a 12% year-on-year increase. The loss in the first quarter of 2002 is caused mainly by the strong Czech crown against the Slovak crown and the fact that Lusk Nova imports most of its raw materials from the Czech Republic, Lelko said.
