Slovakian glass producer LR Crystal, a.s., of Lednicke Rovne, ended 1999 with a profit of Kcs 24.58 million compared with Kcs 805,000 it reported in 1998. Its output exceeded Kcs 998 million, which is an increase of Kcs 91 million from 1999. Sales were at Kcs 901.5 million, up Kcs 94 million year on year, according to official figures released by the company. The company reported profit from current operations of Kcs 24.7 million, and losses from financial operations accounted for Kcs 18.7 million. In late December 1999, total assets of the company were at Kcs 1.24 billion, up Kcs 215 million year on year. Fixed assets made up Kcs 65.7% of the total sum. LR Crystal registered no long-term receivables by the end of 1999, and short-term receivables were Kcs 221.8 million. Almost Kcs 24.3 million worth of receivables were claims after maturity. Concerning liabilities, shareholders“ equity accounted for Kcs 816.4 million, debts totalled Kcs 408.3 million, and other liabilities were Kcs 12.2 million. Last year the company registered bank borrowings of Kcs 240.5 million, from which Kcs 54.2 million were long-term loans. LR Crystal is engaged in the production and processing of glass, the production of machines for glass production, and the production of wooden and cardboard packaging. It is also licensed to inspect glasses for restaurants. The company, established in 1992, occupies a leading position on the Slovak market. Its majority shareholder is B.D.S. from Lednicke Rovne, controlling 90.91% in the company.
