In January-June, the Lisichanskaya Soda Plant, Lisichansk, Lugansk region, the second major producer of soda in Ukraine, increased production by 21.7% or UAH 5.8 million compared with the corresponding period of 2001, to UAH 32.52 million. In January-June, the plant increased production of unpacked baking soda by 12% or 770 tons to 7,040 tons, packed soda – by 24% or 925 tons to 4,800 tons compared with January-June of 2001. In 2001 the plant increased production by 15% or UAH 7.85 million compared with 2000, to UAH 60.2 million. As reported earlier, the plant finished the January-June period with losses of UAH 3.359 million. The company specializes in production of soda ash and holds a monopoly in baking soda market.
