The City of Toledo is offering incentives to Libbey Glass to help retain and create new jobs, in an effort to keep the 122-year Toledo tradition in the city. City leaders are planning to offer Libbey a grant and tax credits so it can make a multi-million dollar investment in plant operations, which reportedly include a USD 10 million investment in equipment, creating 50 new jobs and retaining a further 1,200. I do think it“s very rewarding Libbey has chosen Toledo to start its home base here and to continue manufacturing efforts, said Toledo Economic Development Commissioner Brad Peebles. From our perspective the agreement portrays they must fulfil the 50 job requirement in three years, said Peebles. It“s my understanding they will start ramping up over the course of the next 12 months.
