German Leis Polytechnik polymere Werkstoffe GmbH has developed a polyamide with strong fibreglass reinforcement named Nylaforce B 70, the company said on 10 September 2002. Nylaforce is manufactured by a special production technique, which makes it possible to incorporate the fibreglass in an extremely non-intrusive way. Nylaforce contains up to 70% fibreglass. Nylaforce can substitute metals and metal alloys due to its resistance to high temperature. The polyamide can be applied in the automobile industry. The company intends to begin serial production at the end of 2002. Leis Polytechnik aims to produce 500 tonnes of Nylaforce in 2003 and plans to double its production annually to reach between 3,000 tonnes and 4,000 tonnes until 2006. The company also plans to build a fourth production line. Leis Polytechnik will create up to 10 jobs in production and marketing. The company currently has 30 employees. Leis Polytechnik expects its turnover to increase from EUR 4.0 million in 2001 to EUR 20 million in 2006.
