29 October 1998: According to recent press reports, the board of directors of the Kuwaiti United Investment Company has decided to set up a glass manufacturing factory, worth US$ 130 million, near Damascus. Mr. Solaiman Al-Sultan, Chairman of the Board, said the entity would offer the new factory shares for public subscription. In addition, the Syrian Kuwaiti joint ministerial committee has decided to set up an industrial, agriculture and tourism investment holding venture in Damascus with US$ 200 million capital.
