The Polish glassmaker Krosnienskie Huty Szkla SA (Krosno) recorded a fall in its earnings for the first half of 1997. From a net profit of Zl 6.26 million on net sales of Zl 90.97 million for the first half of 1996, the company fell to a Zl 4.28 million profit on higher sales of Zl 92.67 million in the first six months of this year. For the sole month of June, from a net profit of Zl 0.95 million on sales of Zl 14.08 million in 1996, profit decreased in 1997 to Zl 0.59 million on sales of Zl 15.64 million.
