22 October 1998: Poland“s glassworks Krosnienskie Huty Szkla Krosno SA (Krosno) has announced its preliminary results for September. Net profit was reported at Zlty 943.5 thousand compared with Zlty 757.1 thousand during the same period a year earlier. Pre-tax profit was at Zlty 1,496.4 thousand compared with Zlty 1,139.9 thousand. Operating profit increased to Zlty 2,031.6 thousand from Zlty 1,275.4 thousand. Sales also increased to Zlty 20,539.8 thousand from Zlty 17,526.7 thousand. From January-September 1998, Krosno reported a net profit of Zlty 6,391.4 thousand compared with Zlty 5,183.1 thousand during the same period a year earlier. Pre-tax profit remained almost unchanged at Zlty 8,265.6 thousand, next to Zlty 8,262.3 thousand reported a year earlier. Operating profit was Zlty 8,722.3 thousand compared with Zlty 9,095.8 thousand. Sales were Zlty 165,270.2 thousand compared with Zlty 139,965.2 thousand.
