German family-owned glass manufacturer Interpane AG is aiming at a 6.0% year-on-year turnover increase in 2002 due to the expansion in foreign markets and the introduction of a new type of coated glass, CEO Bernd Kramer said on 21 June 2002. The company expects its 2002 earnings to remain unchanged from 2001. Interpane produced 11.3 million sq. m. of coated glass, 2.2 million sq. m. of insulation glass and 284,000 sq. m. of safety glass in 2001. Interpane posted a EUR 5.3 million net profit for 2001, down by EUR 2.5 million compared to 2000. The operating profit stood at EUR 7.7 million in 2001, compared to EUR 13.1 million in 2000. Interpane increased its consolidated turnover by EUR 20 million to EUR 183.2 million in 2001. The company has 900 employees including its subsidiaries.
