12 November 1998: Hungary“s building industry expanded 16-17% in the twelve months to the end of August with Ft 34 billion total output by the glass industry, Economics Ministry official Sandor Horvath said at the opening of the 6th Interglass exhibition and symposium in Budapest recently. Horvath noted that the building sector grew 3% faster than industry in general between January and August, but third quarter growth of the glass industry lagged behind that of the entire construction sector. Some 100 exhibitors arrived from 16 countries to take part in Interglass, displaying some 10,000 different products for a wide range of applications, from glass for industrial purposes, to glass used in buildings, furniture and vehicles, to lighting and optic glass.
