With the support of UNESCO and the collaboration of the International Commission on Glass (ICG) and Argentina“s Association of Glass Manufacturers, Intemin (Argentina“s national institute for mineral development) has organised two educational events for the glass industry. From 31 March to 3 April 1997 the “Fundamentals and New Developments in Glass Manufacturing” course will be conducted by Prof. Dr. H. De Waal (Institute of Applied Physics TPD/TNO in Delft, Holland, and chairman of the ICG“s Technical Committee 23 “Education and Training in Glass Science and Engineering”), and Prof. Dr. Edgar D. Zanotto (Federal University of San Carlos, San Pablo, Brazil) at the Salon Auditoria del Museo de la Subsecretaria de Mineria, Av. Julio A. Roca 651 PB, Buenos Aires, Argentina. Following this event, on 4 April 1997, the 9th Technical Seminar on Glass Containers will take place. As with the 8th edition, the event“s central theme will be quality control, assurance and management. The seminar will also be conducted by Prof. Dr. De Waal.
