Ukrainian glass packaging manufacturer Hostomel (Kyiv region) finished 2003 with net profits of UAH 22.514 million, the company said. In 2003, the enterprise increased net income by 6.9% or UAH 8.05 million compared with 2002, to UAH 123.96 million. The company finished 2002 with net profits of UAH 11.425 million. In January 2004, the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development allocated a USD 17 million loan to the Hostomel glass factory for construction of a glass melting furnace with a capacity of nearly 600,000 beer bottles per day. Hostomel glass factory plans to complete construction of the new furnace by the end of 2004. In total, the enterprise has 3 glass melting furnaces with daily capacities of 80, 100 and 180 tons. Hostomel glass factory specializes in the production of glass bottles for alcohol and non-alcoholic beverages, and of glass containers for the pharmaceutical industry. According to the Agency for Development of Infrastructure of the Stock Market, 23.59% of the factory“s shares are held by one investor.
