German container-glass-technology firm Heye-Glas announced the retirement of Managing Partner Hans-Dieter Hillen on 1 October 2000. Hillen joined Obernkirchen-based Heye-Glas in 1984 and was appointed managing partner in 1986, working alongside Ulrich Buschmeier. In 1988, in addition to his company commitments, he became a member of the board of the German container-glass trade association, Fachvereinigung Behlterglas. At Heye-Glas, Hillen was responsible for the entire technical sphere. Following Hillen“s retirement, Heye-Glas has streamlined its management structure, with Buschmeier now acting as sole Managing Partner. The company has stated that it will continue on its innovative course, building on successes like the recent award of the German Packaging Prize 2000 for its added value lightweight glass concept.
